On Tuesday we travelled from Cowley Beach to Tolga in the Atherton table lands. Our choice of ascent was along the Palmerston Highway as the road was better than through South Johnston. We had ruled out the Gillies Highway and Kuranda Road as they are too steep and twisted to consider taking the caravan.

We arrived at the Tolga Caravan Park and set up on our slightly wedge shaped site which has plenty of room with trees either side. and wallabies visiting in the evenings.
Our plan is to spend two weeks here, using it as a base for travels around the area.
Already the hosts Tess and Robbie have made us feel extremely welcome. They delivered scones to our caravan for morning tea on Thursday and we were invited for spring rolls on Saturday evening around their VW fire pit.
