Our holiday living in the caravan started on Friday, 2nd January 2026. We are camped at a friend’s property while we set up and test everything. We are finding homes for everything in the caravan and in the back of the ute.

Our tests proved necessary as while testing the instant gas hot water we smelled gas. After checking, we discovered that the regulator was leaking, a lot. It was leaking so bad that bubbles were unable to form from the soap spray we used to check connections.

We survived the first weekend using the electric hot plate to cook and used the shower in our friends house.

On the Monday we called a gas fitter who came out the next day to check and change the regulator. All good now with a new gas certificate.

We are continuing to test things as we need them.
