We chose to visit Mount Isa on our last day as we had never visited there previously and don’t know if we will be up that way again.
The road from Cloncurry to Mount Isa was some of the best outback bitumen that we have driven. On our way we saw another Burke and Wills Memorial.
Mount Isa is a large township and has a good array of shops. Two things we managed to purchase in Mount Isa that we have not seen since leaving Townsville were English Black Pudding and Fevertree Tonic water, so we stocked up.
We only visited the information centre and the lookout as we did not have enough time to do an underground mine tour and still get back to the caravan in daylight.
